Steve Howlin has over 36 years of experience in taxation working for taxation authorities and a big four consulting firm in the UK, Singapore and Australia. His experience and focus is predominantly GST/VAT, including 15 years of experience as Assistance Commissioner in the ATO leading written GST rulings and objections, GST audit and GST risk management. He also worked with business for 5 years as a big 4 GST consultant in Singapore and Australia.

Steve has worked extensively as a GST/VAT expert consultant for the IMF, providing advice and capability improvement on assignments to tax authorities in Europe, Africa, Middle East and South East Asia.

Steve says that GST/VAT is ingrained in his DNA and he just loves to solve GST/VAT problems.

He cycles regularly and enjoys creating “art” (his words and parenthesis). He hopes one day to combine the two.
